C&S Wholesale Grocers has extended its “New Lower Prices” program to its Piggly Wiggly and Martin’s Super Markets. Shoppers can find reductions of 6-15 percent on thousands of items, including both center store and perishable items.

Keene, New Hampshire-based C&S first rolled out the price cuts in May at Family Fare and VG’s locations in May. The expanded program now spans eight states: Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. C&S noted that many of the stores serve rural communities.

“This investment reflects our commitment to helping shoppers stretch their budgets without compromising on quality, freshness and selection,” said Eric Winn, CEO of C&S. “By making everyday essentials more affordable, we are delivering real savings and continuing our commitment to being the hometown grocer of choice.”

Where the savings show up

The reductions focus on fresh meats, produce and everyday basics, with in-store signage and special price tags flagging the lower-priced items. Featured products include boneless chicken breasts, rib-eye steak and ground meat, along with grilling items such as Nathan’s all-beef franks and Kingsford charcoal briquets.

Produce reductions cover Honeycrisp apples, bell peppers and bananas.

Everyday basics range from ketchup, mustard and pickles to household staples including Glad tall kitchen bags, Dawn dish detergent and Ziploc storage bags.

Shoppers can layer additional savings through each banner’s rewards program and digital coupons.

Established in 1918, C&S operates more than 200 corporate-run grocery stores primarily under the D&W Fresh Market, Grand Union, Family Fare, Martin’s Super Markets and Piggly Wiggly banners. Its family of companies includes Grocers Supply, Hansen Distribution Group, Davidson Specialty Foods and SpartanNash.
