Legacy Bakehouse has appointed Tim Jax CEO. The appointment of a new chief executive comes after two years of acquisitions and capacity expansion for the Waukesha, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of baked snacks, cookies and tortillas.
Jax most recently spent two and a half years as CEO of Crofter’s Organic, a North American producer of organic jams, jellies and spreads. He led volume growth in branded, private label and industrial channels there before the company was sold in December 2025.
In total, Jax has nearly 20 years of consumer packaged goods experience, including leadership, marketing and innovation roles at Pretzels Inc., TreeHouse Foods and Conagra Brands. He also previously served on Legacy’s board of directors.
“Tim is joining Legacy at a critical point in our journey,” said Brian Behm, board member at Legacy and managing director at Benford Capital Partners. “His experience scaling and driving results with innovative food companies will prove invaluable for our evolving platform.”
Alain Vallet-Sandre, who has led Legacy’s transformation over the past three years, remains president and will work with Jax on strategy and commercial execution. The company added Lauren Davis as CFO in late 2025.
“The company has real momentum, and its diverse set of flexible baking and snack capabilities is a true differentiator in the market,” Jax said.
Growth through acquisition
Legacy has expanded capacity at its Waukesha plant, added a second bakery in Cudahy, Wisconsin, through the 2024 purchase of the former Angelic Bakehouse assets, and acquired Sevierville, Tennessee-based Classic Cookie in 2025.
The company said continued investment in capacity, automation and expanded capabilities broadens the formats it can produce and positions it as a single-source manufacturing partner for customers ranging from emerging brands to national CPG companies.
Legacy Bakehouse has manufactured baked goods since 1917 and operates three plants in Wisconsin and Tennessee totaling more than 130,000 square feet, producing snack mix and components, cookies, pita chips, tortillas and croutons for national brands, its own Classic brand and private label customers. Chicago-based private equity firm Benford Capital Partners acquired Legacy in 2023.
