The official opening of The Market of Point Pleasant Beach on Friday, July 24, will return a full-service supermarket to Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, according to Associated Supermarket Group.
The store, which had a soft opening earlier in July, took over a former Stop & Shop space.
Independently owned and operated by Shap Markets, the new market is the company’s fifth location.
Point Pleasant Beach Mayer Doug Vitale was quoted in local media as saying of the store: “After spending years without a full-service grocery store, we are thrilled to welcome The Market of Point Pleasant Beach to our community. We are excited to see this space filled once again and wish the owners and staff tremendous success as they become an important part of our community.”
The 18,000-plus-square-foot store sells fresh produce, meats, seafood, dairy, frozen foods, pantry staples, prepared foods and everyday essentials – “all focused on delivering quality, value and exceptional customer service,” according to ASG.
The store is located at 505 Richmond Ave. in Point Pleasant Beach. The grand opening is expected to draw visitors from Point Pleasant, Brielle, Bay Head, Manasquan, Brick, Toms River and surrounding Jersey Shore communities as well as Point Pleasant Beach locals. It will feature special promotions, product sampling, vendor demonstrations, giveaways and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend.
ASG provides retail solutions to independently owned grocery stores in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, providing distribution, marketing, merchandising, promotional services and store financing. Its services allow independently owned and operated stores to take advantage of the economies of scale normally available only to larger supermarket chains. ASG’s supermarket banners include Associated, Associated Fresh, Compare, Compare Fresh, Met Foods, Met Fresh, Pioneer and other independently named stores.
