Detwiler’s Farm Market has announced plans for a new location in North Port, Florida, with an anticipated opening in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The store, located at 5001 N Sumter Blvd., will be the family-owned grocer’s first new construction, its southernmost location and largest market to date.

“Our customers have been asking us for years to come to North Port,” said Henry Detwiler Sr., founder. “We’re excited to finally bring our farm market experience to this community.

“This location is especially meaningful because it allows us to design and build from the ground up, creating our largest store yet and an experience that truly reflects who we are.”

Sam Detwiler, president, described the new store as a “big step forward” for the company.

“North Port is growing quickly, and we’re looking forward to growing alongside it – bringing our quality, value and unique shopping experience to even more families,” he said.

Detwiler’s Farm Market began as a roadside produce stand in 2002 and has steadily expanded, sticking to its “Eat Fresh for Less” motto. The brand has built a following by offering fresh produce, quality meat and seafood, baked goods and groceries.

The North Port store will feature the full range of departments, including fresh produce, deli, bakery, seafood, meat and grocery items. The larger footprint will allow for expanded offerings, enhanced layout and a more immersive farm market shopping experience.
