FMI Announces Staff Promotions Across Key Business Areas

FMI – The Food Industry Association has promoted five staff members to leadership roles spanning SQFI technology and customer service, state and local government relations, communications and marketing.

The promotions reflect FMI’s continued investment in the expertise and leadership needed to support its members and deliver greater value to the food industry.

“FMI’s strength lies in the expertise, dedication and leadership of our team,” said FMI President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin.

“These promotions recognize individuals who consistently deliver meaningful results and help advance our mission to support the food industry. We congratulate them on their well-earned achievements and look forward to their continued impact.”

Kelli Windsor has been promoted to VP of web and digital communications. She has played a key role in advancing FMI’s digital strategy, modernizing digital operations, expanding the use of data analytics, and positioning FMI for continued growth.

Mike Green has been promoted to senior director of state and local government relations. He has expanded his leadership across FMI’s state sustainability policy portfolio, including packaging and extended producer responsibility issues, while serving as staff liaison to key committees and editor of the FMI Sustainability Policy Report. He has also led advocacy campaigns and developed educational materials on digital shelf labels and algorithmic pricing.

Daniel Akinmolayan has been promoted to senior director of digital strategy and customer service at the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), a division of FMI. He led the completion of Phase 1 registration and database enhancements, as well as a year-long data cleanup and migration to the CMX platform, accelerating system adoption and driving revenue growth. His work supports more than 8,000 global customer inquiries.

Bianca Ruffin has been promoted to senior director of marketing. Since becoming director in 2021, she has expanded her role to lead enterprise-wide marketing initiatives, advanced the organization’s marketing technology ecosystem, strengthened campaign performance tracking, and supported membership recruitment efforts.

Matt McKinney has been promoted to director of communications. He has been instrumental in advancing FMI’s policy communications and public affairs efforts, strengthening media engagement, and delivering clear, impactful messaging across press, digital and member channels.
