Wegmans will enter the Charlotte, North Carolina, market Oct. 14 when it opens a store at 11550 North Community House Road in the Ballantyne neighborhood.

“We’ve put a lot of care into hiring and training our new team, and we’re looking for more enthusiastic candidates to join us before opening day,” said Patrick McGuinness, store manager.

“Construction on the new store is well under way, and we’re thrilled to begin the countdown to Oct. 14 when we will welcome the community through our doors.”

The Ballantyne store will employ about 450 people in full‑ and part‑time positions. The former are available throughout the store, including positions in sushi, pizza, restaurant foods, deli, cheese, seafood and bakery.

Part‑time jobs, including cashiers, are also open. Those interested may apply online at jobs.wegmans.com/ballantyne or call (980) 467‑7333 for more information.

Wegmans offers benefits to both full‑ and part‑time employees, including flexible scheduling, career development opportunities and tuition assistance through its scholarship program.

The Ballantyne store will feature traditional Wegmans departments, including restaurant foods (sushi, pizza, chef‑made salads, sandwiches), a produce department with hundreds of fruits and vegetables, and a wide variety of seafood, meat, bakery, deli and cheese options. The store also will offer a large selection of wine and beer.

Wegmans has been named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune for 29 consecutive years, ranking fifth in 2026. The family‑owned chain operates 114 stores along the East Coast and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2016.
