The Food Industry Sales and Marketing Club held its annual Women in the Food Industry event March 10 at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, raising $8,000 for industry charitable partners while recognizing two leaders – Rhonda Tagge of Olive Crest and Jennifer McDonald of UNFI – whose work continues to impact the grocery industry community.
Through strong participation from retailers, industry organizations and the supplier community, the event generated $4,000 for Olive Crest and $4,000 for the UNFI Foundation.
Attendees included representatives from the Western Association of Food Chains, the USC Food Industry Management Program and retailers including Food 4 Less, Ralphs, Northgate Market, Superior Grocers, Gelson’s Markets and Heritage Grocers. Also in attendance were members of the supplier community.
FISMC events bring together retailers, suppliers and industry partners to strengthen relationships across the food industry while supporting charitable organizations that make an impact in the communities they serve.
The organization’s upcoming events include the FISMC Golf Tournament benefiting City of Hope on Sept. 16 and the Holiday Hi Jinks Retailer Appreciation Luncheon in support of Olive Crest on Dec. 4.
