Sprouts Farmers Market will open its new location April 17 at 4303 Kingwood Dr. in Kingwood, Texas. The store marks a return to the Houston-area suburbs for the specialty retailer.
The grand opening will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m., and doors will open to the public at 7 a.m. The 27,000-square-foot store is designed with the company’s signature “farmers market” layout, positioning fresh produce at the center of the shopping experience.
“Stepping into Sprouts, shoppers can expect an experience rooted in freshness, quality and wellness – with delicious discoveries down every aisle,” the company noted in its announcement.
The Kingwood store will offer a variety of specialized dietary products, including organic, plant-based, gluten-free and keto-friendly options. The location also features a full-service deli with made-to-order sandwiches, a sushi station with fresh rolls prepared daily and a bulk department with hundreds of bins for nuts, grains and spices. The vitamins and supplements department will be staffed by experts to assist customers with wellness products.
As part of its local commitment, Sprouts is partnering with regional producers such as J&B Farms and South Tex Organics to source Texas-grown produce. The store will also participate in the Sprouts Food Rescue program, donating unsold but edible groceries to the Houston Food Bank to combat local food insecurity.
“Sprouts Farmers Market is invested in serving the communities where it operates,” the company stated. “Through Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, this store will donate groceries that are no longer fit for sale but remain perfectly edible and nutrient-rich to the Houston Food Bank.”
The retailer operates more than 480 stores in 25 states, with 61 locations in Texas. The Kingwood opening is part of a broader expansion strategy following the closure of three Houston-area stores in 2023.
