Publix Super Markets has executed leases for three new Kentucky stores – in Bowling Green, Richmond and Versailles.

Each city will welcome a 54,964-square-foot Publix Super Market with an adjacent Publix Liquors. The stores are expected to create about 150 jobs apiece.

An opening time frame has not been determined for any of the three, which will be located in:

  • Campbell Commons, at Campbell Lane and Smallhouse Road in Bowling Green;
  • The Farms at Barnes Mill, at Goggins Lane and Barnes Mill Road in Richmond; and
  • The Shops at Woodford Farm, at Lexington Road and Governors Way in Versailles.

“This announcement reflects our commitment to delivering the Publix difference to new customers,” said Jared Glover, media relations manager for Publix Super Markets. “We look forward to being active members of these vibrant communities and serving our new customers soon.”

The leases signal continued investment in Kentucky, the newest state in Publix’s footprint.

The Lakeland, Florida-based retailer is the largest employee-owned company in the U.S. with more than 260,000 associates and operates 1,432 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.
