Sprouts Farmers Market opened three new stores in late February and early March, adding two Florida locations and one in Texas to its growing footprint.

The first store opened Feb. 27 at 1591 N. Williamson Blvd. in Daytona Beach, Florida. Two additional locations opened March 6: one at 3420 S US Hwy 27 in Clermont, Florida, and another at 655 Hwy 71, Suite 101 in Bastrop, Texas. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies at all three locations took place at 6:45 a.m., with doors opening at 7 a.m.

Community impact

Local officials welcomed the openings. Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry said the new store addressed both economic and nutritional needs.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Sprouts Farmers Market to Daytona Beach. In addition to providing fresh, healthy and specialty food options for our residents, Sprouts brought more than 90 jobs to our community,” Henry said. “This investment strengthens our local economy while expanding access to nutritious choices for families across our city.”

Clermont Mayor Tim Murry said the store represented more than a retail addition to the city.

“We are thrilled about the fresh opportunities Sprouts Farmers Market brought to our community and it is a blessing to have Sprouts invest in Clermont,” Murry said. “Sprouts is more than a new store in Clermont. It is a commitment to jobs, health and quality of life for the residents of Clermont.”

Store features and offerings

Each location offered fresh produce sourced in partnership with local and regional farmers, alongside healthy proteins including “No Antibiotics Ever” chicken and 100 percent grass-fed beef, and sustainably sourced seafood.

Fast, fresh lunch options included $5 Sushi Wednesdays with sushi rolled daily in-store, $5 sandwiches featuring Sprouts Brand Deli Meats free from preservatives and nitrates, and Sprouts Wellness Bowls starting at $8.99.

Each store also carried more than 7,000 vitamins, supplements and wellness products, staffed by in-store wellness experts. Bulk departments featured hundreds of bins and barrels of freshly roasted coffee beans, rice, nuts, dried fruits, granolas, trail mixes, baking essentials, spices and sweets — all free from artificial colors and flavors.

Grand opening activities

Grand opening weekend activities ran Feb. 27 through March 1 in Daytona Beach, and March 6 through March 8 in Clermont and Bastrop. The first 200 shoppers on Friday and Saturday received a free reusable tote, and the first 400 guests on Friday received a free long-stem rose courtesy of Falcon Farms Floral. Shoppers who signed up for a Sprouts Rewards account received 20 percent off their purchase over grand opening weekend.

Community partnerships

The Daytona Beach and Clermont stores sourced local produce through partnerships with Alderman Farms and J&C Tropicals. The Bastrop store partnered with South Tex Organics and J&B Farms.

Through Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, the Daytona Beach and Clermont stores donated unsold but edible groceries to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The Bastrop store partnered with the Central Texas Food Bank.

All three locations operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Headquartered in Phoenix, Sprouts employs about 36,000 team members and operates more than 480 stores in 25 states nationwide.
