Good Food Holdings, the portfolio of five premium and natural food retail banners in California and the Pacific Northwest, has appointed President and COO Adam Caldecott as CEO and president, effective Oct. 5, succeeding Neil Stern, who is retiring.
Good Food Holdings comprises the Bristol Farms, Lazy Acres Natural Market, New Leaf Community Markets, Metropolitan Market and New Seasons Market banners.
Caldecott steps up after more than six years of leadership at the Carson, California-based company, where he has held CEO roles across multiple Good Food Holdings banners in addition to serving as president and COO. He began his career with Bristol Farms in 1995 as a clerk in the meat department and has since held leadership positions throughout the company’s brands and operations.
“I started at Bristol Farms in 1995 as a clerk in the meat department, and I remain grateful every day for the opportunities this company has provided me,” Caldecott said. “Neil’s leadership has helped build a thriving organization, and I am honored to succeed him. Our future is rooted in the talented teams across our banners, our incredible customers, and the unique communities we serve.”

Stern, who became CEO in 2020, will remain involved as an advisor and board member. Under his leadership, the company strengthened and expanded its portfolio, which today supports more than 7,500 employees at 57 West Coast grocery stores under the aforementioned banners.
“It has been a privilege to lead this remarkable group of companies and the people who bring them to life every day,” Stern said. “Adam has been a trusted partner and is exactly the right leader for what comes next.”
Good Food Holdings’ five banners maintain their own identities, local leadership and community connections, with the company providing shared expertise, operational capabilities and long-term investment.
