URM Stores is celebrating the groundbreaking of a new Super 1 Foods location in Post Falls, Idaho, with construction underway and a goal of opening by July 4, 2027.

Ron McIntire (second from left), owner of the future Super 1 Foods, breaks ground for the new store along with his son Randy McIntire and daughters Becky McIntire Boifeuillet and Robin Wright.

The 56,000-square-foot store will be located near the intersection of Highway 41 and Prairie Avenue, bringing another grocery option to the growing Post Falls community in Idaho’s panhandle.

The company said it looks forward to sharing updates as the project takes shape.

Post Falls is one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. Between April 2020 and July 2025, it was No. 84 on a list of about 1,900 U.S. cities and towns that added more than 20,000 residents over that span.

The town is located along the Spokane River between Coeur d’Alene and the Washington state border.

Spokane, Washington-based URM is a retailer-owned cooperative serving independent grocers throughout the Inland Northwest, with Super 1 Foods among the banners it supplies. The groundbreaking was also celebrated by ROFDA, the Retailer Owned Food Distributors and Associates, the cooperative alliance of which URM is a member.
