Representatives from 85 grocery companies connected with 75 vendors, manufacturers and brokers at their booths at Olive Crest’s 5th Annual Food Show, held Sept. 18. Northgate Gonzalez Markets provided space for the event on the soccer field adjacent to its corporate headquarters in Anaheim, California.

The annual gathering supports the Child Abuse Stops Here Network, an Olive Crest initiative that supports children and families in communities nationwide.

The retailer attendees included executives, category managers and fresh and meat department team members “intentionally visiting each of the booths in their category and more,” Rhonda Tagge, national director of corporate development for Olive Crest, told The Shelby Report.
“We had meetings with retailers and made deals that included give-back campaigns for Olive Crest,” she said.

The booths featured new products and provided an opportunity for relationship building among attendees in addition to the philanthropic component.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the heart and generosity of our food industry partners in supporting the children and families of Olive Crest,” Tagge said. “What an incredible show! We saw deals being made that do more than business; they give back and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in our communities.”

She said she has received feedback that it was the best Olive Crest food show thus far.

Olive Crest, whose “Strong Families, Safe Kids” mission focuses on preventing child abuse and supporting at-risk children and families, has long-standing ties to the grocery industry, drawing retailers, CPG companies and brokers to its cause-marketing partnerships and events.
