Kroger’s Atlanta Division celebrated the completion of a $1.5 million renovation at its New Holland Market store in Gainesville, Georgia, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration July 31.
Associates, community partners and guests gathered at the store, located at 1931 Jesse Jewell Pkwy. SE, to commemorate the investment and see the renovated departments.
“This is not just a capital investment; it is an investment in the community and the people we serve,” said Tammie Young-Ennaemba, head of communications and public affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.
Renovation details
The project includes a new floral department and a new Murray’s Cheese shop, along with updates to the dairy, bakery, produce, meat, seafood and Kitchen Place departments and additional interior infrastructure improvements.
During the celebration, Kroger recognized its Partners in Education, New Holland Elementary School, Gainesville Middle School and Lakeview Academy, as well as its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste partner, the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
“In keeping with Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste commitment, our contractors and partners diverted 96 percent of the construction waste generated during the renovation project from landfills,” Young-Ennaemba said.
Kroger’s Atlanta Division includes Georgia, Eastern Alabama and South Carolina, with 27,000 associates serving customers across the region.
