Meijer is offering discounts on a rotating selection of more than 1,000 grocery items through Sept. 8, a six-week promotion the retailer is framing as a thank-you to Midwest shoppers.
The rotating assortment spans hundreds of product categories, including meat, produce, snacks, cereal and household supplies. Some items will stay discounted for the full six weeks, among them:
- a Fresh from Meijer whole pork shoulder butt roast at $1.79 per pound, down from $2.99;
- family pack chicken drumsticks at 99 cents per pound, down from $1.39;
- a whole seedless watermelon at $4.99, down from $8.99; and
- 12-ounce Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes at $2.99, down from $4.29.
The discounts are reflected automatically in the on-shelf price, on Meijer.com and in the Meijer app, with no coupon or signup required.
“Midwesterners work hard for their money, and we believe they shouldn’t have to work equally as hard to save money on their groceries,” said Don Sanderson, chief merchandising and marketing officer at Meijer, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. “We’re proud of the value we offer customers 365 days a year and this is our way of saying thank you as families make the most of the last few weeks of summer.”
The promotion builds on a year-long calendar of discounts on Meijer brand essentials that the company said has saved customers $2.5 million in 2026. Meijer said it plans to continue the Meijer brand discounts into the holiday season.
Meijer is a privately owned, family-operated retailer with more than 500 supercenters, grocery stores, neighborhood markets and express locations in the Midwest.
