Vusion, the France-based provider of AI-powered digitalization technology for physical stores, has signed an agreement to acquire In-Store Media, a Barcelona-based retail media company. The deal advances Vusion’s strategy to turn physical stores into digital media assets.
In-Store Media designs, deploys and monetizes retail media networks across physical stores and works with more than 90 retail banners and more than 1,600 brands across nine countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia. In 2025, the company generated revenue of approximately 120 million euros and offers a portfolio of more than 50 print and digital media solutions.
“The next big digital media is the physical store,” said Thierry Gadou, chairman and CEO of Vusion. “Retail media has already transformed the economics of online commerce. The next frontier is in stores, where most shopper traffic remains and decisions of purchase are made.”
Gadou added that combining Vusion’s connected store platform with In-Store Media’s “track record, execution capabilities and relationships with retailers and brands” will help retailers turn store traffic into measurable media value, new revenue streams and more engaging shopper experiences in stores.
Extending retail media in-store
While retail media has become a significant profit driver for retailers over the past five years, most of that growth has come through online channels, even as the majority of shopper traffic and purchasing decisions still occur in physical stores. Vusion said adding In-Store Media’s advertising expertise, brand relationships and operating capabilities would allow it to monetize the store at scale and connect in-store exposure to purchase outcomes.
“In-Store Media has developed itself by helping retailers and brands activate the full potential of physical stores,” said Fernando de Vicente, CEO of In-Store Media. “Joining Vusion would allow us to accelerate this mission with the technology, scale and global footprint required to digitize in-store retail media at a new level.”
Deal terms
The transaction has been approved by Vusion’s board of directors and is expected to be financed with debt. Completion remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed. In-Store Media was advised by GBS Finance, Mizuho Greenhill and Baker McKenzie, while Vusion was advised by JP Morgan and White & Case.
Vusion is a global provider of connected store technology, including electronic shelf labels, computer vision and retail media solutions, serving more than 350 retail groups worldwide.
