The Giant Co. will hold grand reopenings July 24 at its two Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, stores following several months of renovations. Both locations – 925 Norland Ave. and 993 Wayne Ave. – remained open during the work.
The remodels updated fresh departments including produce, bakery, meat and seafood, along with center store aisles. The company said the stores now feature improved layout efficiency and expanded assortment.
The deli and prepared foods departments were overhauled to add more hot and prepared foods and Grab ‘n Go items, and the beer and wine areas were relocated to the front corner of each store. The Wall of Values, which consolidates key weekly circular sale items, was reconfigured at both locations.
“This remodel enabled us to improve efficiencies and flow throughout the store for our customers, while showcasing Giant’s commitment to value and freshness with more product variety and updates to our produce and other fresh departments,” said Matthew Koppenhaver, Norland Avenue Giant store manager.
The Norland Avenue store’s pharmacy was fully redesigned and replaced, adding a consultation room for administering vaccines in a private setting.
The Wayne Avenue store received a new customer service alcove.
“Customers will notice a new look and feel throughout the store,” said Bryan Robertson, Wayne Avenue Giant store manager. “In addition to their favorite products, there’s also a great combination of new offerings and products for customers to try, especially in the prepared foods area.”
Grand reopening events July 24 will include a gift card raffle, giveaways, cake and product samplings from vendor partners including Boar’s Head, Country Acres, Rastelli Burgers and Hissho Sushi.
The Norland Avenue store has operated since 2007 and employs about 180 team members; the Wayne Avenue store opened in 1990 and employs about 145. Both locations are open daily from 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
Founded in 1923 and based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, The Giant Co. operates nearly 200 stores under the Giant and Martin’s banners in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. It is a company of Ahold Delhaize USA.
