Natural Grocers, a family-operated organic and natural grocery retailer, will open a new store in Rapid City, South Dakota, on July 22. Located at 855 Omaha St. at West Boulevard and Mt. Rushmore Road, the store will serve residents and visitors in Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, Custer, Keystone and surrounding communities. It is the company’s second location in South Dakota.
The retailer’s good4u Crew will kick off grand opening festivities at 8:15 a.m. with a $2,500 donation presentation to Feeding South Dakota, its local food bank partner, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony with city officials and store leadership. Doors will open at 8:27 a.m.

Grand-opening events on July 22 include mystery gift cards ranging from $5 to $500 for the first 150 customers, a free hand-crafted Ecuadorian drawstring backpack bag for the first 500 shoppers and a prize wheel from noon-5 p.m.
A grand-opening sweepstakes running July 22-Aug. 5 offers prizes including an Aventon e-bike valued at $1,400 and a $500 Natural Grocers gift card. From July 22-Aug. 31, shoppers can save up to 50 percent on products from every department, with exclusive pricing available to members of {N}power, the company’s free rewards program.
The new store includes sustainable building features and energy-saving innovations, including non-toxic building materials and 100-percent LED lighting. Customers can expect 100-percent USDA-certified organic produce, 100-percent pasture-based dairy products and free-range eggs, a supplement department with more than 5,000 products and an onsite Nutritional Health Coach coming soon.
As part of its commitment to the Rapid City community, Natural Grocers will support Feeding South Dakota through its Bring Your Own Bag Program, donating 5 cents for every shopping trip in which customers use their own reusable bags. Feeding South Dakota serves all 66 counties in the state, working with local partners and volunteers to provide food assistance, nutritious meals and resources to children, families and seniors facing food insecurity.
