The ShopRite in Paramus, New Jersey, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 23 to mark the opening of a new Electrify America fast charging station in the store’s parking lot.
The station features six Hyper-Fast chargers, each capable of delivering up to 350kW, among the fastest publicly available EV charging speeds on the market.

Paramus Mayor Christopher DiPiazza joined employees and members of the Glass family, owners and operators of the location at 224 Rt. 4 East, for the ceremony.
“As a family-owned business, we’re committed to supporting our community and embracing sustainable solutions that benefit our customersTerry Glass, co-CEO and co-president of Glass Gardens Inc.
“Hosting an Electrify America fast charging station underscores our focus on innovation, convenience, and the evolving needs of the people we serve.”
Part of a statewide expansion
The Paramus station is part of a wider rollout of EV charging infrastructure across ShopRite locations, coordinated through Wakefern Food Corp., the Keasbey, New Jersey-based retailer-owned cooperative.
Anthony Lambkin, VP of operations at Electrify America, said the Paramus store is the third ShopRite location in New Jersey to receive a charging station, with expansion planned for the remainder of 2026.
“We have eight additional charging stations planned for ShopRite locations across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania this year, and look forward to bringing this important amenity to ShopRite customers,” Lambkin said.
Electrify America operates the largest open Hyper-Fast charging network in the U.S., active in 47 states and the District of Columbia, backed by more than $2 billion in zero emission vehicle infrastructure investment.
