Food Lion Simpsonville

Food Lion will open a new location March 25 at 2321 W. Georgia Road in Simpsonville, South Carolina, marking the brand’s fifth in the area and its fourth store opening in the first quarter of 2026.

The opening will be followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first 100 customers in line will receive a mystery gift card valued up to $200 and a free reusable shopping bag.

Store features

The new location includes a walk-in garden cooler, in-store prepared cut fruit, freshly-made sushi and a self-service wing and hot favorites bar.

Shoppers will find ready-to-eat, -cook and -heat meals alongside produce, meats and a selection of organic, gluten-free and plant-based items under Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise private brand.

Mike Strange, the store’s manager and a 28-year Food Lion veteran who has lived in Simpsonville for two decades, said the opening carries personal significance.

“Our team is excited to welcome neighbors into a store that’s designed to make shopping easy, fresh and affordable. We look forward to serving our neighbors with a shopping experience they can trust,” Strange said.

Hunger relief

In conjunction with the opening, Food Lion donated the equivalent of 25,000 meals – through a $2,500 contribution – to Harvest Hope Food Bank in Greenville, South Carolina.

Harvest Hope will also conduct regular food rescue pickups from the store through Food Lion’s partnership with Feeding America.

Since launching its hunger-relief platform Food Lion Feeds in 2014, the retailer has donated the equivalent of more than 1.5 billion meals and has set a goal of 3 billion total by 2032.

Food Lion plans additional store openings and remodels later in 2026. It operates more than 1,100 locations across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states with 82,000-plus employees.
