Weis Markets has donated funds to local schools in the Northeast during its fourth annual Weis 4 School program.
“Weis 4 School is a convenient way for Weis Markets customers to make a difference at local schools by doing their regular grocery shopping,” said Weis Markets Director of Public Relations Dennis Curtin.
“Donations generated through Weis 4 School offer schools the flexibility to use funds where they’re most needed. The program is part of Weis Markets’ ongoing investment in the communities where we operate stores.”

Local schools receiving funds include:
- Carbondale Area Elementary School – $6,866.74;
- Christian School of York – $7,161.39;
- Oaklyn Elementary School – $3,351.36;
- Selinsgrove Area Intermediate School – $7,194.64;
- Spring Garden Elementary School – $6,343.23;
- Thurmont Elementary School – $28,644.62; and
- Thurmont Primary School – $22,869.26.
Qualifying purchases made with a connected Weis Rewards Card help supporters earn a share of the $500,000 Weis 4 School donation for their schools. Shoppers will continue to earn rewards points that they can redeem for discounts on food and fuel. Due to laws and regulations, lottery ticket, postage, alcohol, tobacco, gas and milk purchases do not qualify for points.
