Harris Teeter now offers customers the option to have eligible prescriptions delivered alongside a grocery order, via Instacart, the Kroger subsidiary announced Aug. 3.

The service, available through the Harris Teeter app and website, lets customers receive prescriptions and groceries in a single delivery. Prescriptions are filled by Harris Teeter pharmacy teams. The option requires enrollment in the retailer’s My Prescriptions program and Online Pay, and eligibility varies by medication type, delivery address and local regulations.

“Combining pharmacy services into the everyday shopping experience makes it possible for more families to manage their health in a convenient and efficient way,” said Lindsay Cappoziello, senior director of health and wellness at Harris Teeter.

“This launch offers more delivery options for certain prescriptions filled by the same Harris Teeter pharmacy teams that customers know and trust,” she added.

The launch builds on the Matthews, North Carolina-based grocer’s integration with Instacart, which it adopted for grocery delivery after tying into Kroger’s back-end e-commerce systems.

A wholly owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co., Harris Teeter employs 36,000 associates across more than 250 stores and 85 fuel centers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and the District of Columbia.
