JOH has acquired Fresh Approach Sales & Marketing, a Wisconsin-based broker serving the Upper Midwest, expanding the Billerica, Massachusetts-based sales and marketing agency’s North Central division.
Fresh Approach was founded in 2005 by President Dale Grudnowski and has built its business representing brands through retail partnerships and local market expertise. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition follows a series of North Central hires by JOH, including produce roles added in the Midwest earlier this year, as the agency builds out a region where it has historically been less established than in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Matt O’Hare, JOH president and CEO, said of Fresh Approach, “Their strong values, customer focus and proven success make them an outstanding fit for our culture.
“This acquisition represents another important step in our long-term growth strategy as we continue investing in exceptional people and expanding our capabilities across the North Central region,” O’Hare added.
What Fresh Approach brings
Calling the acquisition “an exciting next chapter for our team,” Grudnowski said the deal gives his team broader market reach and expanded resources.
“Throughout the years, we’ve built our business on relationships, trust, and delivering exceptional service,” he said. “We’re excited for what this partnership will mean for our clients, customers and teammates.”
Frank Tuma, EVP of North Central at JOH, said Fresh Approach has established relationships throughout Wisconsin and beyond that add to the agency’s local expertise.
Brian Maguire, EVP of produce, added that the Fresh Approach team’s customer relationships complement JOH’s existing coverage.
Founded in 1956 by Harry O’Hare Sr., JOH is marking its 70th year. The agency operates 17 offices, employs more than 600 associates and represents more than 400 clients. It is an owner and member of OSMG America, covering the food, drug, mass and club channels.
