FMI – The Food Industry Association has appointed Kim Visioni as the association’s director of health and well-being.

In the role, Visioni will support FMI’s work advancing the role of grocery stores as destinations for health and well-being. The position covers nourishing food, wellness products, credible guidance and health-related services, along with the expansion of FMI’s relevant programs and community.

Krystal Register, FMI VP for health and well-being, said the appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the industry.

“With consumers’ interest in health and well-being at an all-time high and grocery stores uniquely positioned to meet customers, in the aisles and online, to support their personal health goals, Kim joins the FMI team at a critical juncture,” Register said.

“I am thrilled for Kim to help support our vibrant community with her unique blend of retail business background, project management experience, communication skills and nutrition expertise.”

Visioni’s background

Visioni began her professional career in the corporate sector, spending 15 years in finance and fashion e-commerce operations before transitioning into the field of nutrition.

Most recently, Visioni served with the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s Child Nutrition Programs, Nutrition Education and Promotion Branch. In the role, she supported the development of school meal resources and served as a grant program officer for the USDA’s Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative, building deep expertise in federal nutrition policy and program implementation.

Visioni holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Richmond and a master of science in nutrition education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
