Albertsons Companies Inc. has expanded its DriveUp & Go to include free curbside pickup for eligible pharmacy prescriptions nationwide.

The service is available at more than 1,700 participating store and pharmacy locations. It gives customers a simple way to get the medications they need without waiting in line or leaving their vehicle, adding another easy option designed to help customers save time and manage their health in the flow of everyday life.

Removing friction from pharmacy

Anthony DalPonte, president of pharmacy and health at Albertsons, said the expansion reflects the company’s customer-centered approach to health care.

“At Albertsons Cos., our focus is making health care simpler and more convenient for the customers we serve,” DalPonte said. “Adding prescription pickup to DriveUp & Go removes friction, saves time and gives customers greater flexibility as they manage their health and wellness needs, reinforcing our commitment to a customer-centered pharmacy experience.”

How it works

DriveUp & Go prescription pickup allows customers to skip the pharmacy line and receive eligible medications curbside.

Customers can place orders online or through the Albertsons store app, select a pickup time during designated pharmacy DriveUp & Go hours and prepay in advance. Upon arrival, prescriptions are delivered directly to the customer’s vehicle.

Prescription pickup can be added to a grocery DriveUp & Go order as well, though no grocery purchase is required.

Incentives for new pharmacy customers

To welcome new pharmacy customers, Albertsons also offers grocery savings incentives.

Eligible customers who fill or transfer prescriptions to an Albertsons pharmacy for the first time can earn savings off groceries. Restrictions apply across the company’s banners, including ACME Markets, Albertsons, Amigos, Carrs, Haggen, Jewel-Osco, Pavilions, Randalls, Safeway, Shaw’s, Star Market, Tom Thumb and Vons.
