Houchens Food Group Inc. has announced two leadership appointments – Misty Bryant to director of retail operations and Boyd West as senior director of fresh merchandising.
Bryant, who joined Houchens Food Group in 2007 as a merchandising assistant, has held a series of progressively senior roles over nearly two decades with the company, including category manager and, most recently, director of merchandising support. Her expertise spans merchandising, pricing, inventory management and store operations.
“I am excited and humbled to be promoted to director of retail operations,” Bryant said. “I look forward to this next chapter where I can continue to serve our people, lead with accountability and help drive strong execution and results across our stores.”
West brings more than 47 years of experience across the retail and wholesale sides of the grocery industry. He began his career in family-owned independent stores in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and later joined Red Food Stores, where he spent 10 years in various management roles, ultimately serving as produce supervisor and trainer.
On the wholesale side, West held leadership positions at Malone & Hyde/Fleming Foods and Mitchell Grocery Company before serving most recently as director of fresh departments at Associated Wholesale Grocers.
West serves as treasurer of the Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation and sits on the board of directors for the Alabama Grocers Association.
