More than 100 Hy-Vee stores across the Midwest are offering A1C screenings at a reduced price during April.

Hy-Vee’s registered dietitians will administer the tests, which are available for $15 for one screening or $20 for two. Testing normally costs $45 per person.

The screenings, available while supplies last, are provided in partnership with Abbott, Dave’s Killer Bread, Embecta and OLIPOP.

Through a finger stick, A1C tests measure average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months to identify prediabetes or diabetes. Fasting is not required, and results are available immediately.

Hy-Vee dietitians will review results with the customer afterward.

Registration is required. Customers can find the nearest participating location and schedule an appointment on Hy-Vee’s website.

Appointments must be purchased in April, though customers can schedule their screening for later.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 560 business units across nine Midwestern states with annual sales of more than $14 billion.
