Tom Thumb will unveil a new store March 6 at 1046 Market Way in Argyle, Texas, marking the third of the company’s four new locations opening in North Texas within six months.

The company opened two new stores in December and has announced an additional location for in Midlothian. This is in addition to three stores that opened in 2024.

Also in December, the company broke ground on a new store in Lucas, Texas, which is expected to open later this year.

In Argyle, the first 300 shoppers on opening day will receive a bag of groceries, and there will be deals, offerings, samples and in-store events throughout the weekend. Shoppers have a chance to win free groceries for a year and have free photos taken with the Easter Bunny.

Store features

The 63,000-square-foot store includes more than 1,000 local products. Customers will find fresh departments including bakery, deli, meat and seafood, produce and floral.

The store also features an in-store Starbucks coffee kiosk, pharmacy with drive-thru and Drive-Up-N-Go grocery pickup.

“Tom Thumb is excited to showcase our full-service grocery store and fresh new items that customers in Argyle will love,” said Bill Neve, division president.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the town of Argyle for their support of this new store and have been looking forward to meeting our newest customers and welcoming them into their Tom Thumb.”

Tom Thumb is owned and operated by Albertsons Cos., which operates stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia with 24 banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Market Street and United Supermarkets.

In 2024, along with the Albertsons Cos. Foundation, the company contributed more than $435 million in food and financial support.
