2025 Women of Influence
Yanira De La Cruz
District Team Leader, Northgate Gonzalez Market
Yanira De La Cruz started her career in grocery retail in October 1998 as a courtesy clerk at Pavilions. After 27 years in the industry, she is proud to have worked her way up through the ranks. One of Yanira's biggest accomplishments is becoming the first female District Team Leader at Northgate, which not only broke barriers but also inspired other women to continue advancing. What she enjoys most about her role is the opportunity to engage with and empower the next generation of female leaders. She takes pride in mentoring, training and being an active part of their development so they can thrive in leadership positions. Yanira says it's fulfilling to see female associates promoted into leadership roles, especially this year. She is grateful to have played a part in their journeys and hopes her experience has inspired future female leaders to continue striving for greatness. A lesson Yanira has learned throughout her career is to never fear failure. She says she has learned more from mistakes than from successes, and these lessons have helped her stay humble and empathetic. Every day, she strives to be a better version of herself and believes this mindset is what drives her forward.
