Save A Lot has named the first round of winners in its Hometown Heroes program, a nomination‑based initiative recognizing people and organizations making an impact in their communities. Each winner received a $500 Save A Lot gift card.
“At Save A Lot, we believe in shining a light on the people who strengthen our communities through acts of kindness and commitment,” said Sarah Griffin, VP of communications.

“Our Hometown Heroes inspire us daily, and we’re honored to celebrate their contributions with a small token of appreciation. Their stories remind us that good things are happening all around us.”
The winners and their plans include:
- Ashlee Wethington – volunteer firefighter in Munfordville, Kentucky, who will use her gift card to further support the community.
- Elizabeth Freeman – Elmwood Blessing Box in Westland, Michigan, who will continue helping neighbors.
- Karri Dumas – Cadillac, Michigan, who will support the Halloween House of Cadillac.
- Jacqueline Bromley – Dade City, Florida, who will assist students at Pasco High School.
