Whole Foods Market celebrated the donation of its 100th Nourishing Our Neighborhoods refrigerated van to the San Antonio Food Bank on June 3.
The milestone event took place at the Whole Foods Market Vineyard store and included a “stuff the van” moment, in which employees filled the vehicle with donated pantry staples and fresh produce before it departed.
Addressing food insecurity across SW Texas
The San Antonio Food Bank serves 29 counties in southwest Texas, feeding more than 140,000 people each week.
The organization rescues food from Whole Foods Market’s Vineyard and Quarry locations weekly and redistributes it to those experiencing food insecurity.
About Nourishing Our Neighborhoods
Through the Nourishing Our Neighborhoods van donation, Whole Foods funds the purchase of all-electric, refrigerated vans and recharging stations for hunger-relief organizations so they can safely transport fresh food.

Amazon’s broader support
This van donation builds on the San Antonio Food Bank’s long relationships with Whole Foods Market and Amazon.
Amazon’s home delivery program leverages its logistics network to transport meals from the food bank to families, at no cost to the recipients or the nonprofit.
The program reaches people who face barriers to visiting traditional food banks, including seniors, those with limited mobility or disabilities and families without reliable transportation.
Ongoing local partnerships
In addition to the van donation, Whole Foods Market’s Vineyard and Quarry stores volunteer with the food bank throughout the year, provide in-kind donations upon request and have awarded monetary grants through the Store Giving program.
