Meijer has donated $200,000 to the 2026 Harvest for Hunger Campaign, an annual springtime effort that assists four food banks that serve 21 counties in northeastern Ohio.
The donation will support the Akron‑Canton Regional Foodbank, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.
“For more than 90 years, Meijer has been dedicated to fighting hunger and supporting families in the communities we serve,” said Vik Srinivasan, chief administration officer at Meijer.
“This commitment is reflected in our support of the Harvest for Hunger campaign, ensuring individuals and families in Northeast Ohio have reliable access to nutritious meals now and in the future.”
Harvest for Hunger is one of the largest annual food and funds drives in the nation.
The 2025 campaign set a record, collecting more than $11 million and thousands of pounds of food to provide more than 33 million meals for local hunger relief. Funds raised through the campaign help food banks and their partner agencies keep shelves stocked amid increased demand.
Ohio was the first state Meijer expanded to outside of Michigan. The retailer has some 14,000 employees statewide at stores and its distribution and manufacturing facilities in Tipp City.
