The Winn-Dixie Company opened a new location Aug. 15 at 7380 State Road 100 in Keystone Heights, Florida, continuing its investment in its home state.
The Keystone Heights store was among the three Hitchcock’s Markets Winn-Dixie acquired in 2025.
The grand opening began with a 7:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony that included a $1,000 check presentation to Keystone Heights Junior/Senior High School. The first 100 customers in line received Winn-Dixie mystery gift cards valued between $10 and $100, and festivities throughout the day included DJ entertainment, product sampling, kids’ activities and hourly raffles for prizes including three $500 gift cards, a Yeti cooler, an electric smoker and a Blackstone grill.
Jacksonville-based Winn-Dixie says the store brings “a fresh, modern shopping experience, convenient meal solutions and everyday value to Keystone Heights and surrounding communities.”
Store features
The Keystone Heights location includes an extensive produce department with organic and Hispanic options; a dedicated seafood department featuring fresh seafood on ice and the Seafood Made Easy program with ready-to-cook seafood, vegetables and seasonings; and a full-service deli with freshly sliced meats and cheeses, self-serve hot foods and Winn-Dixie’s Lip Lickin’ Chicken offerings, including rotisserie chicken, popcorn chicken and wings.
The bakery features fresh breads, pastries, cakes and desserts, including Cuban and Puerto Rican rolls and tres leches cakes, and the meat department offers a wide assortment of fresh meats, including USDA Choice selections. Authentic Hispanic products are carried across every department.
The store also carries Winn-Dixie’s Own Brand products, including Essentials, SE Grocers, Prestige and Know & Love. These help customers save an average of 20 percent compared to national brands, the company says. Self-checkout lanes are available for added convenience.
The store’s design features a vibrant exterior façade and contemporary interior signage inspired by Winn-Dixie’s century-long heritage, the company says. It is open seven days a week 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
Finishing the deal
The Hitchcock’s store in Williston opened under the Winn-Dixie banner in December and the Alachua store is currently under conversion. A July 29 Facebook post from the City of Alachua said, “Work at the new location is moving quickly, and the progress underway is an encouraging sign that the store is advancing toward its grand opening. The activity at the site reflects a significant private investment in the property and the continued growth of Alachua’s commercial community.”
