H‑E‑B has opened its first full‑sized store in Dallas County, welcoming customers to a new 100,000‑square‑foot location at 2351 West Interstate 635 in Irving, Texas.
The store opened at 6 a.m. on June 17, marking a significant milestone in the grocer’s ongoing North Texas expansion.

The Irving store, which was originally announced in 2024, is expected to create about 700 jobs and serve residents of Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, West Dallas and the Las Colinas community.
The new store features a full‑service H‑E‑B Pharmacy with a drive‑thru, a True Texas barbecue restaurant, and the grocer’s signature fresh departments including produce, meat, seafood, bakery and deli. As with other H‑E‑B locations, the Irving store emphasizes Texas‑grown products and locally-sourced items.
H‑E‑B’s expansion into Dallas County has been years in the making. The company already operates Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop locations in the county, but the Irving store is the first to carry the flagship H‑E‑B banner. The grocer has announced plans for additional stores in Murphy, Forney, and other North Texas communities.
“H‑E‑B has been a Texas institution for almost 120 years, and it’s a pleasure to welcome them home to Irving along with 700 new jobs for our workforce,” Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer said in a statement when the project was announced.
“Our community offers an excellent quality of life that includes best‑in‑class amenities, and the addition of H‑E‑B reinforces this with its broad array of grocery options at affordable prices.”
