Stater Bros. Markets has appointed Bruce Robinson VP of sales and merchandising – fresh, reporting to EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Rebecca Calvin.

Robinson will lead the strategic vision, development and execution of the company’s fresh department, which includes meat, seafood, produce, floral, service deli and bakery.

He also will work across store operations, marketing and supply chain teams to strengthen merchandising and enhance the customer shopping experience.

Robinson brings 38 years of experience from H-E-B, where he began as a department manager in 1986 and advanced to VP of fresh merchandising by 2013. In that role, he contributed to growing H-E-B’s fresh sales from $6.2 billion to $14.2 billion over five years.

Most recently, he served as VP of merchandising, format and development at Lowes Foods, a position he assumed in 2025, where he introduced convenience programs aimed at aligning merchandising strategies with shifting consumer behavior.

“Bruce arrives at Stater Bros. with an enormous amount of experience and a legacy of proven results,” Calvin said. “I look forward to working closely with him to create fresh food solutions that strongly appeal to the wide spectrum of consumers that live and shop in our market.”

Robinson has masters degrees in business administration and interdisciplinary studies in psychology and sociology from the University of Texas at Brownsville and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Schreiner University. He has completed the Food Executive Program at Cornell University.
