Aldi Midtown NYC

Aldi will open its first Midtown Manhattan location June 19 at 311 West 42nd St., placing the German discount retailer in the shadow of Times Square.

The opening is part of Aldi’s broader push to reach 3,200 U.S. stores by the end of 2028.

On opening day, the first 200 customers will receive bags containing product samples and a gift card as part of Aldi’s Golden Ticket giveaway program. They also can get a limited‑edition Aldi NYC tote bag while supplies last.

“Our Midtown store will show New Yorkers why so many already choose Aldi for their weekly grocery trip,” said Chris Daniels, regional VP for Aldi.

The store is on the ground floor of The Ellery apartment building at 311 West 42nd St.

“As shoppers look to stretch their dollar further, we can’t wait to open this new location in one of the most iconic parts of the city and offer the high‑quality grocery selection people want and need at the lowest possible prices,” Daniels added.

The store will feature nearly 90 percent exclusive brand products, with one in three of those having won awards.

Shoppers will find organic meats, fresh produce, sustainable seafood and a standout cheese selection. A curated product range and weekly limited‑time Aldi Finds round out the offering.

  1. I have been going to Aldi in Rego Park, Queens.
It takes almost an hour one way. I need to take subway E line, get off at Jackson Heights, change to R train, get off at Rego Park and walk 8 minutes.
Now I do not have to waste 2 hours r/t from June 19.
It is actually walking distance (or 1 subway stop) from my house.
    I am so excited.
