Cingari Family Markets will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 20 to mark the completion of major renovations to its ShopRite location in Southbury, Connecticut.
First Selectman Tim O’Neil and representatives from the Southbury Chamber of Commerce are scheduled to join the Cingari leadership team for the event at 775 Main St. South.
The renovation project, which took place while the store remained open, focused on modernizing the layout and expanding fresh food offerings.
Updates include a redesigned produce and floral department, an expanded selection of grab-and-go meals and the introduction of exclusive Cingari Family Markets recipes and fresh-prepared products.
“This project reflects our continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our Southbury customers,” said Thomas Cingari Sr., president and CEO. “We’re excited to officially unveil these new amenities and welcome the community to experience everything the renovation has to offer.”
In addition, the project included sustainability-focused infrastructure improvements, including energy-efficient refrigeration systems and LED lighting.
The update is part of a larger multi-year investment strategy by the Cingari family to modernize their 10 ShopRite locations and two Grade A Markets in southwestern Connecticut.
Founded in 1929, the company is operated by the family’s fourth generation of leadership.
Headquartered in Stamford, Cingari Family Markets is a member of the Wakefern Food Corp. cooperative, the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the U.S.
