Instacart acquires Instaleap

Instacart has acquired Instaleap, a global fulfillment and enablement solutions platform, as part of a strategic push to expand its enterprise footprint outside North America. The move strengthens Instacart’s presence in nearly 30 countries across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Instaleap provides purpose-built grocery technology that includes marketplace integrations and logistics tools designed to help retailers scale their online operations. The platform has powered more than 100 million transactions to date and maintains relationships with nearly 100 grocery retailers and marketplaces, including major international banners such as Cencosud, SPAR and Jeronimo Martins.

“We see a meaningful opportunity to expand internationally through an enterprise-led strategy that empowers retailers across the globe to meet the evolving omnichannel needs of their customers,” said Ryan Hamburger, chief commercial officer at Instacart.

“With the addition of Instaleap’s technology, international expertise, and deep retail relationships, we can accelerate our international expansion and better serve retailers and consumers around the world.”

Instaleap will initially operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instacart to ensure service continuity for its current retail partners. Over time, Instacart plans to integrate its broader suite of enterprise technologies – including Retailer Media, AI-driven data solutions and Connected Store tools like Caper Carts – into the Instaleap platform.

The acquisition follows Instacart’s recent international traction with its Storefront Pro and Caper Carts technologies in markets like Australia and the United Kingdom. By acquiring Instaleap, the company gains localized market expertise and a logistics engine already tailored to diverse international regulatory and operational environments.

“We’ve built our platform with a deep focus on the unique needs of grocery retailers across diverse international markets,” explained Antonio dos Santos Nunes, CEO and co-founder of Instaleap. “Joining Instacart enables us to scale our impact with the support of a trusted partner that shares our commitment to retailer success.”

Based in San Francisco, Instacart partners with more than 1,800 retail banners across North America. Financial terms of the Instaleap transaction were not disclosed.
