As part of the 2024 Feeding Minds & Bodies campaign, which marked a decade of partnership between Price Rite Marketplace and Feed the Children, the two organizations hosted 10 events in several states, distributing about 130,000 meals and essentials valued at nearly $1.4 million.

These efforts reached more than 21,000 people in communities served by Price Rite Marketplace stores. Each family, pre-identified by local partners, received a 25-pound box of food, 15-pound box of essentials and personal care items and additional shelf-stable items. Children also got backpacks filled with school supplies.

“Our Feeding Minds & Bodies program is at the heart of Price Rite Marketplace’s charitable giving, and we are thankful for Feed the Children and all our community partners whose support has allowed us to help our neighbors over the last 10 years,” said Kevin McDonnell, president.

From May through December, Price Rite and Feed the Children held events in Buffalo and Schenectady, New York; Bethlehem and Chester, Pennsylvania; New Britain and New Haven, Connecticut; Chelsea, Chicopee and New Bedford, Massachusetts; and Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

Price Rite Marketplace employees and Feed the Children representatives also volunteered at each event, with state and local elected officials also taking part.

“We are grateful for a decade of partnership with Price Rite Marketplace, helping to make a difference in the lives of children and families,” said Emily Callahan, president and CEO of Feed the Children. “Through continued collaboration, we have a greater impact as we seek to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.”

Corporate and local partners who helped make the events possible included local chapters of the Boys & Girls Club, Butterball, Conagra Brands, Frito-Lay, Goya Foods, Hormel Foods, Kellogg’s, Keurig Dr. Pepper, Kraft Heinz, Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Olive St. Food Pantry, PepsiCo, the Salvation Army of Chelsea and United Foods.

Since partnering with Feed the Children, Price Rite Marketplace has contributed more than four million pounds of food, totaling more than $14 million in-kind donations, providing support through 76 community events helping more than 228,000 people across the Northeast.
