Blount Fine Foods, a Fall River, Massachusetts-based manufacturer of handcrafted soups, entrées and side dishes for retail and foodservice, has named Chicago-based Scooter Bay Sales Co. as Retail Broker of the Year. The award is part of Blount’s annual “Relentless Pursuit of Excellence Awards” program, which recognizes excellence and dedication to customers among the company’s network of sales brokerage companies.

“One of the key ingredients to the sustained success of Blount Fine Foods is our network of incredible sales brokers who work so hard every day to create new opportunities to sell Blount’s premium products,” said Bob Sewall, Blount’s EVP of sales and marketing, and the company’s executive sponsor of the awards program. “The incredible growth we have experienced over the last several years is direct evidence that our brokers continue to be reliable and loyal partners to our existing customers, and relentless in winning over new ones.

“Scott Shoub and his team at Scooter Bay have left no stone unturned in bringing our Blount, Panera Bread and Legal Sea Foods branded soups and sides into and across Illinois, Wisconsin and northern Indiana. And by being genuine partners to their customers, they are solidifying long-term relationships between our company and the leading retail grocers in that area.”

Sewall sees Blount’s network of brokers as a seamless extension of the company’s own sales force, and it is common for members of Blount’s staff to collaborate closely with brokers and call on customers as one team. All of the nominations for the Blount Relentless Pursuit Awards came from Blount’s sales staff.

Blount Fine Foods is a family-owned and operated company that has been processing food since 1946. Blount produces more than 900 premium products for restaurants, institutions, retailers and club stores in all 50 states.  It manufactures more than 600 proprietary soup recipes, including 75 varieties of clam chowder alone.  The company is the largest manufacturer of lobster bisque in America, was the first brand to launch single-serve grab-n-go fresh soups at retail and has full lines of organic and gluten-free soups and sides.
