Founded in 1966 by R. C. Pruett and his wife Barbara, Pruett’s Food has deep roots in family and community. R. C. Pruett’s journey in the grocery business began at a young age in Copeville, TX, where he worked in his family’s store. After venturing into different professions, including selling cars, R. C. and Barbara took a leap of faith and purchased their first grocery store in Antlers, OK, in 1966.
Facing challenges such as a highway bypass, the Pruett family persevered and became an integral part of their new community in Antlers. Over the years, Pruett’s Food has expanded to several locations across Oklahoma and Arkansas, including Broken Bow, Valiant, Atoka, Ada, Durant, Holdenville, McAlester, and DeQueen.
The company’s commitment to providing quality products and exceptional service remains unchanged as they continue to grow. The latest addition to the Pruett’s Food Family of stores opened its doors in Hugo, Oklahoma, on December 9th, 2020, marking another milestone in their journey of serving communities with dedication and care.
