Food Depot
The history of Quality Food Depot began in March 1975, when Gerald Taylor and Raymond Johnson purchased their first supermarket in Stockbridge, Georgia, despite initial skepticism and limited funds. They renamed the store “Quality,” reflecting their commitment to high standards. Their perseverance and mutual respect helped build a loyal customer base, driven by the simple promise, “Just give us a chance to serve you.”
In 1988, the Food Depot name and Cost Plus 10% concept were introduced, starting with the Conyers, Georgia store. This model spurred the company’s growth, and by 2004, all stores had converted to the format. Today, Food Depot operates 41 stores across Georgia, including in West Georgia, Columbus, Dublin, and Macon. As an Employee-Owned company, the brand thrives on the dedication of its employees, maintaining core values of integrity, respect, and commitment to customers, making it a trusted name in the grocery industry.
