RocketCup Coffee has secured distribution in more than 40 Tops Markets in and around the western New York area.

The partnership with western New York-based RocketCup is part of Tops’ “ongoing commitment to support local businesses while delivering high-quality, innovative products to their customers,” the grocer said in an April 15 press announcement.

Founded in 2022, RocketCup Coffee says it is “focused on revitalizing communities through exceptional coffee and meaningful partnerships.”

The coffee company sources top 5 percent specialty-grade beans and roasts them in small batches at its headquarters in Cattaraugus, New York, the company says, supplying both consumers and retail partners.

Quality local offerings

“Bringing RocketCup Coffee into our stores aligns perfectly with our focus on local partnerships and quality offerings,” said Gwen Pratt, category business manager for Tops Markets.

“RocketCup represents the kind of innovation and community connection that resonates with our customers.”

In addition to its core coffee lineup, RocketCup creates custom-branded coffee for businesses, universities and organizations nationwide. Its “College Coffee” officially-licensed roasts support universities in markets across the country. These are available both online and at retail.

Committed to Western NY

Despite its growth in markets nationwide, RocketCup says it remains deeply committed to its western New York roots, continuing to roast locally.

“We built RocketCup to be different,” said Co-Founder Tom Cullen. “From the quality of our beans to the partnerships we create, everything we do is about delivering a better experience. Being on shelves at Tops allows us to bring that experience to more people in our home region, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”

Tops Markets operates 151 grocery stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont, including one franchise location, and employs more than 14,000 associates.
