The Walmart Foundation has committed up to $250,000 in grants to the Hawaii Community Foundation and Lahui Foundation to support disaster relief and long-term recovery across the state following a recent series of severe storms.

Two consecutive storm systems struck the islands beginning March 10 and 19, bringing catastrophic flooding, landslides, infrastructure damage and emergency evacuations.

In addition to the foundation grants, Walmart is providing more than $25,000 in in-kind donations. Through coordination with Convoy of Hope, Feeding America and other partners, local Walmart stores are working to distribute water and essential supplies to affected areas.

Local stores and employees are also working with the Salvation Army and other nonprofits to distribute aid, and the Kahului location is providing targeted support for Hoaka Mana on Molokai.

“The Walmart Foundation is dedicated to supporting Hawaii’s road to recovery by supporting those on the front lines,” said Julie Gehrki, president. “Through these grants to the Hawaii Community Foundation and Lahui Foundation, we are putting resources directly into the hands of local organizations that have deep roots and impact in these communities.”

Walmart Inc. (Nasdaq: WMT) operates more than 10,900 stores and numerous e-commerce websites in 19 countries, employing about 2.1 million people worldwide. The company reported fiscal year 2026 revenue of $713 billion.

The Walmart Foundation’s philanthropy efforts are represented through Walmart.org, which focuses on tackling key social and environmental issues through collaboration and long-term systemic change.
