GetGo Café + Market, which is owned and operated by Giant Eagle, will celebrate Leap Day on Feb. 29 with the grand opening of its first Pennsylvania location – and the third to feature a drive-thru lane – at 663 New Castle Road in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“We’re so excited to celebrate the opening of our newest location in Franklin Township,” said Brandon Daniels, senior manager of public relations and communications.
“We’re eager to join this community, and this grand opening event is our chance to present them with the best GetGo has to offer.”
The “Leap Day”-themed event will feature a giant sub-cutting ceremony (the company’s twist on a ribbon-cutting), along with a DJ, fuel discount, giveaways, raffle drawings, food and beverage samples and an appearance by former Pittsburgh Penguins star Tyler Kennedy.
There also will be an athletic and aerobatic demonstration from Steel City Parkour, a local gym.
The 3,300-square-foot store features a kitchen that specializes in made-to-order meals, sandwiches, wraps and snacks. It also has GetGo’s new bean-to-cup coffee machines and nitro and cold brew coffees, along with a selection of cold beverages.
The store has 28 employees and six gas pumps, which are open 24 hours a day.
To mark the occasion, GetGo will present a donation to 412 Food Rescue, an organization that prevents food waste through recovery and redistribution.
The company will also announce the start of its “buy a sub, share the love” initiative. Through March 31, $1 from the price every sub purchased will be donated to 412 Food Rescue.
