Hy-Vee Adds Independent Infusion Clinic In Chicago

Hy-Vee Inc. recently held a grand opening of a new Hy-Vee Health infusion clinic at 1 East Erie St., Suite 640 in Chicago.

This is the second Hy-Vee Health infusion clinic to open and the first to open in the Chicago area.

The infusion clinic is referral-based and will provide treatments for rheumatology, gastroenterology, pulmonary, neurology, dermatology, oncology and other chronic conditions.

The independent, physician-managed clinic is staffed by licensed physicians and nurse practitioners and features six semi-private infusion rooms, offering a comfortable setting for patients receiving specialty treatments.

The clinic accepts insurance from private insurers, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. It is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursdays, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays and from 7 a.m.-noon on Saturdays.

“We are proud to join the Chicago medical community as we bring affordable infusion treatments to area patients who are facing chronic, complex conditions,” said Aaron Wiese, president.

“In addition to providing a comfortable and convenient experience, our ultimate mission is to improve the overall health outcomes of our patients in this area.”

The company’s first Hy-Vee Health infusion clinic opened earlier this year in West Des Moines, Iowa. Hy-Vee Health is a further extension of Hy-Vee’s operations in specialty health care.

Since 2014, Hy-Vee has operated Amber Specialty Pharmacy, an award-winning specialty pharmacy provider licensed in 50 states with 19 locations across the United States, including a location in Chicago. Amber Specialty Pharmacy specializes in providing personalized care for patients with complex conditions.

For more than 50 years, Hy-Vee has operated retail pharmacies with more than 275 locations across eight Midwestern states. The retailer has invested in other health and wellness areas by employing a team of registered dietitians and creating a free educational program for children called Hy-Vee KidsFit that promotes physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits.

Most recently, the retailer introduced telehealth and online pharmacy provider RedBox Rx, pharmacy benefit manager Vivid Clear Rx and e-commerce health and wellness site WholeLotta Good.

Hy-Vee also operates the free VCRx prescription discount card, which helps patients save up to 80 percent on medications at more than 35,000 pharmacies nationwide. Hy-Vee is one of only a handful of retailers in the nation to operate its own fleet of mobile health units in an effort to provide greater health care accessibility.

Several additional Hy-Vee Health infusion clinics are planned to open later this year across the U.S.
