Price Rite and the Coventry Patriots High School Football program – a varsity football team made up of students from Coventry, Windham RVT, Bolton and Lyman Memorial high schools – recently donated food and essentials to the Connecticut Foodshare organization.
This donation is a part of their “Touchdowns for Hunger” campaign, where a sack of food is donated for each touchdown the Patriots team scored throughout the football season.
This season, 12 sacks of canned items, shelf stable products and fresh produce was donated as a result of the team’s touchdown total. Price Rite Marketplace also donated several additional pallets of shelf stable items to the Connecticut Foodshare organization to help support the community.
Rite fights food insecurity through its support of local food banks, its annual Check-Out Hunger fundraising campaign and its partnership with Feed The Children, contributing approximately $500,000 annually to local food banks and food pantries to benefit families in need within the communities its stores serve.

Price Rite Marketplace also held a food donation, in partnership with Feed the Children. This initiative, benefiting an estimated 22,000 people through eight community events, will not only supply families with fresh food and personal care essentials but also provide the educational tools children need.
