Shenandoah, Pennsylvania-based Mrs. T’s Pierogies, a family-owned and -operated company, is celebrating 70 years of sharing pierogies in 2022 with a product packaging redesign.
The brand kicks off its milestone year with a product packaging redesign to its entire portfolio. Designed in partnership with Cornerstone Strategic Branding based in New York, the new product packaging maintains the blue brand color and yellow oval in a brush stroke font.
Also, in 2022, the company is launching mini packaging with dipping sections.
“Mrs. T’s Pierogies has created big smiles since 1952, so in our 70th year we want to give families something to put an even bigger smile on their face,” said LeeAnn Smulligan, director of marketing, Mrs. T’s Pierogies. “For years, our current and past packaging has sparked creativity for families when preparing their pierogies and we look forward to seeing the recipe creations our new packaging will inspire.”
Mrs. T’s Pierogies are available in 13 flavors, including Classic Cheddar, Loaded Baked Potato and other favorites in full and mini sizes, found in the frozen food aisle.
In 1952, Ted Twardzik Sr. dreamed of starting a food company inspired by his mother’s pierogy recipe. He remembered how popular the Polish dumplings were at church festivals and thought people would be excited to purchase them from their local grocery stores year-round. Later that year, Twardzik Sr. sold the first pierogy samples to his local grocery store and to honor his mother Mary Twardzik – the Mrs. T – he called his company Mrs. T’s Pierogies. Now, 70 years later, Mrs. T’s Pierogies produces 600 million pierogies a year.
