A new Amazon Fresh grocery store in Chevy Chase, Maryland, opened at 7 a.m. Aug. 26 at 5463 Wisconsin Ave. It is the first location in Maryland and the third to open in the D.C. region. Store hours are 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
Amazon Fresh offers a new, low-priced grocery option and supports the community by creating hundreds of local jobs, as well as by donating surplus food from the store to local food banks.
The 33,172-square-foot store offers free, same-day pick-up and delivery for Prime members. It also has introduced new ways to make grocery shopping more convenient, including the Amazon Dash Cart, which enables customers to skip the checkout line, and new Alexa features to help customers manage their shopping lists and better navigate our aisles. Traditional checkout lanes are also available to customers at this store.
The Chevy Chase store is the 18th Amazon Fresh store to open across the country and follows the opening of two others in the D.C. area – Franconia, Virginia, location opened in May and one in Logan Circle, D.C., opened in July.

Store features
- Amazon Dash Cart: Customers are offered the convenience of skipping the checkout line with the Amazon Dash Cart. Customers place their bags in the cart, sign in using their Fresh QR code in the Amazon app, shop and exit through the Dash Cart lane to automatically complete their payment. The cart uses a combination of computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion to identify items put in the cart;
- Selection:Amazon Fresh offers everything customers want from a neighborhood grocery store, including a wide assortment of national brands and high-quality produce, meat and seafood, as well as a range of prepared foods – all available at low prices, every day. It offers 365 by Whole Foods Market organics, national brands like Coca-Cola and Kraft Mac and Cheese; local brands like Taharka Brothers Ice Cream; regional favorites like CAVA dips; and Amazon exclusive brands like Aplenty and Fresh; and
- Low Prices: Customers will find low-priced items available to shop every day – including $0.15 cent bananas; $0.89 cent freshly baked bread; $1.79 freshly baked pizza slices; and $4.97 rotisserie chickens. As doors open to the Chevy Chase Amazon Fresh store, customers will discover deals on a variety of items like $2.69 for a 12-pack of Coca-Cola, buy one get one free Lay’s chips (7.5-8 oz.), and 50 percent off all Aplenty products.
