J&D’s Foods, the Seattle-based food innovation company and inventor of Bacon Salt, has released three new crouton flavors: Pretzel Bread Croutons, Tomato Basil Croutons and Everything Croutons. This comes on the heels of the company’s successful launch of Bacon Croutons, gourmet croutons combined with the taste of bacon.
J&D’s croutons can be tossed in salads, added soups or be eaten straight from the bag for a snack. All of J&D’s gourmet, handmade croutons use the finest ingredients, according to the company.
Pretzel Bread Croutons turn artisan German Pretzel Bread into a bite-sized, crispy gourmet crouton. MSRP is $3.99; Tomato Basil Croutons have real tomatoes and fresh basil baked into every bite. MSRP is $2.99; and Everything Croutons are like an Everything bagel, packing fresh garlic, onions, sesame seeds and poppy seeds into each bite. MSRP is $2.99. The products are available at select retailers, including Kroger and Walmart.
“Summer is produce season, and we were tired of our salads tasting like… well, salads,” said Dave Lefkow, co-founder of J&D’s Foods. “All of our new crouton flavors are industry firsts and can be used not only in salads, but in soups, chili, stuffing or as a tasty snack. Most people can’t stop eating them right out of the bag.”
J&D’s Foods’ line of croutons joins the company’s lineup of seasonings, spreads and popcorn, among other products.
J&D’s Foods was started by two friends—Justin and Dave—who won $5,000 on “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and used it to launch the company.
